  • Introduction: From the very start, even after we sinned, God promised to send a Rescuer. Love was already on the way.

    Get Prepared: Have crayons or markers ready and paper or construction paper.

    Scripture: Genesis 3:15

    Big Idea: God promised hope from the very beginning.

    Discussion Questions:

    • Who did God promise to send to help us?

    • How does it feel when someone makes you a promise?

    • Who always keeps His promises?

    Prayer: God, thank You for promising Jesus when we needed hope. Help us trust that You always keep Your promises.

    Activity: Write the word 'Promise' on a piece of paper. Draw a heart around it and hang it somewhere in your house.

  • Introduction: God told Abraham that through his family, the whole world would be blessed—and Jesus is that blessing.

    Get Prepared: Paper, scissors, glue stick, and a pen or marker.

    Scripture: Genesis 12:2–3

    Big Idea: God’s hope and love are meant for the whole world.

    Discussion Questions:

    • Who did God make a promise to?

    • Who near us needs to experience God’s blessing?

    • How can we show love to someone today?

    Prayer: Lord, help us remember the hope of Your promise and share it with others.

    Activity: Make a paper chain. On each link, write someone you want to bless this season.

  • Introduction: Long before Jesus was born, God gave prophets messages to tell His people that a Savior was coming.

    Get Prepared: Paper, scissors, markers.

    Big Idea: Jesus is the promised King who brings hope and peace.

    Discussion Questions:

    • What names are given to Jesus in this verse?

    • Which name means the most to you?

    • What does it mean that Jesus is our King?

    Prayer: Jesus, thank You for being our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.

    Activity: Make a paper crown. Write one of Jesus’ names on it.

  • Introduction: God chose a small town for a giant rescue mission. His plans are often quiet but always good.

    Get Prepared: None.

    Scripture: Micah 5:2

    Big Idea: God keeps His promises in surprising ways.

    Discussion Questions:

    • Where did God plan for Jesus to be born?

    • Why do you think God chose such a small town?

    • How can we look for God’s work in small ways today?

    Prayer: God, thank You that You use small things for big purposes. Help us see You in the ordinary.

    Activity: Go on a small-item scavenger hunt. Try to find some small things that do big things, like a key or a coin. Set a timer, and share with your family what you found when the time runs out.

  • Introduction: God chose Mary to carry His Son, and she said 'yes' to His plan with faith and courage.

    Get Prepared: Sticky notes and pens.

    Scripture: Luke 1:26–38

    Big Idea: Saying 'yes' to God shows our love and trust.

    Discussion Questions:

    • Who said 'yes' to God?

    • What was hard about Mary’s 'yes'?

    • How can we say 'yes' to God this week?

    Prayer: Lord, give us faith like Mary.

    Activity: Write one “yes” to God on a sticky note.

     

  • Introduction: Joseph obeyed God even when others might not have understood.

    Big Idea: Love obeys even when it’s difficult.

    • Who did Joseph listen to in his dream?

    • What is wisdom? Who grew up strong and wise in today's story?

    Prayer: God, help us grow in wisdom.

    Activity: Draw a spiritual growth chart. Make a graph. The horizontal axis is your age. Start with 1 and go to 100. The vertical axis is moments where you felt closer to God or distant from God.

    Think about events where you felt close to God, and times when God did not feel close.

    Where are you now?

    Where would you like to be in the next year?
